How We Began
Born from a Gap in the Room
In 2024, Dr. Cy Dove and Dr. Christine Grogan discussed the need to help women early on in their career in wound care. Women had been at every wound conference as women were doing the science, but rarely presenting at the sessions. They were publishing the research, but rarely chairing the committees. They were building careers — quietly, without the networks and visibility others had access to.
Women in Wound Care was founded to change that. What began as a small group of clinicians and industry will grow into an international community of over 2,000 professionals across every wound care specialty — united by a shared belief that the science of healing is stronger when every voice is heard
